Haslemere Beer Festival

September 1 - September 2

HASLEMERE BEER & SPIRITS FESTIVAL

Welcome to the Haslemere Beer Festival website. We host a celebration of Real Ale, Cider & Perry with Spirits early each September at Haslemere Hall, 2023 will be our 15th!

Over 40 great real ales, craft bees and ciders and a wide range of live music and delicious local food have proved a winning formula that pulls in the crowds. We were one of the first beer festivals to include a Spirits Bar featuring some very special examples of gin, vodka and rum.

The festival is again very fortunate to have the support of many local businesses with principal sponsor yet again Met Therm Windows and Clarke Gammon Estate Agents, fantastic supporters for many years now.

The beer festival supports local charities and community projects. In the evenings there is a raffle, please buy some tickets you could win a beer related prize!

Simon Labrow, one of the organisers said “Haslemere Beer Festival has grown from an initial mad idea of mine made possible with the backing of Richard Oldham, the Hall manager at the time! We have always specialised in beers from Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire and some specials from further afield. Our beer festival wouldn’t be the same without our expert cellar man and co-organiser Jay Seldon, who will be choosing more ales and craft beers from our local breweries this year. I am also excited we are again including a Spirits Bar for all the session and a keg bar, selling craft ale & lager. The festival looks to support local brewers, create a great atmosphere which brings the local community together and to raise money for charity.”

The event wouldn’t be possible without our wonderful team of volunteers, Howard and his team at Haslemere Hall the excellent bands and of course you, thanks for coming!

LOCAL BEER FROM LOCAL BREWERIES

Each year, approximately 30 ales are chosen by Jay the cellar man, from local breweries, as well as a dozen national favourites.

We also like to throw in a couple of curve balls each year. Something unusual, or outrageous such as Malcolm Irving’s Captain B., which has become a biennial favourite.

Langham Brewery have been going from strength to strength, and actually grew during lockdown due to arranging social distanced ale collection from the brewery and opening their new tap room.
Another newcomer will be GBW (Godalming Beer Works), brewed by Andy at The Star in Godalming.
With so many amazing ales brewed within a few miles of Haslemere, its hard choose sometimes.

We are always on the look out for interesting, amazing or just plain unusual ales from local breweries. Get in touch!
